Coaching Philosophy

As an athlete and a coach with over 15 years experience in the sport, I have tried and tested numerous training methodologies at the same time as developing my own unique style. I understand that no two athletes will ever get the same results by following the same program. Therefore, I believe that three things are essential in coaching my athletes: an individualized approach to maximize athlete’s ability, consistency and the right mental attitude.
As an athlete, I understand the need to challenge myself and to be challenged by other athletes during a competition. As a coach, I strive to continue to educate myself and to work alongside other top USAT coaches in the industry in order to gain and share knowledge to further develop as a coach and an athlete.

I started in Triathlon over 5 years ago and have raced every distance from Sprints to Ironman Races. I consistently place in the top of my age group through dedicated training and using a postitive mental attitude. I am very passionate about the sport. As my passion grew through the years I knew I wanted to help others discover the improvements that triathlon can bring to their lives.  I started coaching over 3 years ago and have loved every minute of it. I believe in helping athletes improve their limiters, strengthen their skills and help them gain the confidence they need to meet and exceed their personal goals.  I feel that coaching athletes not only involves improving their swim, bike and run techniques but also teaching them that having a positive mindset can take them far in a race.

While coaching athletes, I find the greatest joy in watching the beginners experience the thrill of crossing their first finish line and then watching their growth as they make their way to the longer distance races.
